Job Description

About The Role This is a dynamic and high-impact role for a Sales Trader/Originator to join 3Degrees, a certified B Corp, and drive the commercial growth of our Biomethane Europe business. This opportunity is about more than just sales—it's about contributing to our important mission of accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy. You will be on the front lines, identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities to secure high-value off-take agreements. This role demands an exceptional blend of commercial acumen, client relationship management skills, and market expertise to effectively tailor biomethane sales offers to diverse European buyers. You will be instrumental in negotiating complex contracts and delivering market insights that shape our commercial strategy, while serving as a key collaborator across the trading floor and upholding the values of a mission-driven B Corp. This position is based in Europe and joins our Biomethane team. We prefer a hybrid work arrangement for those near our Norway or Netherlands offices, but we are also open to hiring remotely in Italy, Spain, the UK, and Hungary. What You'll Do Your focus will be on driving sales, executing trades, managing client relationships, and providing essential market intelligence: - Sales and Trading Execution: Proactively identify market opportunities and initiate sales trades in biomethane. - - Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contract terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and certification requirements with clients to successfully close high-value off-take agreements - - Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse portfolio of buyers across Europe, including industrial clients, utilities, and renewable energy suppliers19. Understand client needs, sustainability targets, and procurement strategies to effectively tailor biomethane sales offers accordingly - - Market Intelligence and Analysis: Monitor European biomethane markets, pricing trends, regulatory developments, and certification frameworks to inform sales strategies - - Internal Communication and Forecasting: Provide crucial market insights and sales forecasts to internal teams and management to support commercial decision-making - - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with trading, origination, and portfolio management teams to align sales strategies with broader company goals. Work with legal and risk teams to ensure contracts comply with company policies and regulatory requirements - - Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports, client updates, and market briefings for management and stakeholders. - About You You are an ambitious and results-oriented Sales Trader or Originator or Broker with significant experience in European biomethane markets, gas, or renewable energy markets. You excel at building and maintaining high-value client relationships and have a proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing complex commercial contracts. You are motivated by a collaborative team environment, possess excellent communication skills to drive consensus, and are committed to the success of your colleagues and the wider organization. - Expertise in identifying market opportunities and initiating sales trades in biomethane or related commodities - - Proven success in negotiating and closing high-value off-take agreements, including terms, pricing, and certification - - Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse European buyers - - Superior verbal communication skills for client negotiations and compelling presentation of sales offers - - Strong knowledge of European biomethane markets, pricing trends, regulatory developments, and certification frameworks - - Experience in tailoring sales offers to align with specific client needs, sustainability targets, and procurement strategies - - A track record of successful teamwork and coordination with trading, origination, and portfolio management teams - - Proficiency in preparing accurate and timely sales reports and market briefings for management and stakeholders - - Working knowledge of cross-border trade logistics and delivery schedules within the European biomethane market - How We Define SuccessWithin the First 30 Days - Gain a firm grasp on 3Degrees' Biomethane Europe commercial strategy, key market drivers, and the company's value proposition - - Establish strong cross-functional relationships with key internal partners, especially Portfolio Management, Legal, and Risk teams - - Demonstrate understanding of the internal sales reporting process, client contracting systems, and compliance requirements - - Review the current client base and active pipeline of off-take agreements across the target European region - - Gain a strong understanding of the 3Degrees culture to begin actively contributing to its collaborative and inclusive environment - Within the First 90 Days - Independently begin monitoring European biomethane markets and pricing trends, providing initial market insights and sales forecasts - - Identify and qualify at least three new significant market opportunities for sales trades within your assigned European region - - Contribute to client meetings and contract negotiations by drafting initial terms and sales offers under supervision - - Actively participate in cross-functional strategy sessions, aligning sales efforts with portfolio and origination goals - Within the First 6 Months - Be fully ramped up to independently initiate and close multiple high-value sales trades and off-take agreements - - Take ownership of key client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and a deep understanding of their sustainability and procurement needs - - Proactively provide robust market intelligence and accurate sales forecasts, actively shaping the team's commercial decision-making - - Successfully complete all deliverables in the "What You'll Do" section on a consistent basis, demonstrating autonomous contribution and strong commercial judgment - Within 1 Year - Demonstrate sustained success across all goals outlined in the "What You'll Do" section, significantly contributing to revenue targets for Biomethane Europe. - - Identify and secure a landmark, multi-year off-take agreement that materially expands the company's presence in a key European region. - - Become a recognized internal resource for market intelligence and client trends for your assigned markets. - - Achieve set KPIs for sales volume and revenue growth, and consistently demonstrate high-quality communication and collaboration in all internal and external interactions - COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS - Compensation: We offer a competitive salary package in line with the candidates' experience, qualifications and industry standards, ensuring that your hard work and contributions are duly recognized and rewarded    - - Benefits: Our global company offers a range of benefits that may vary depending on your country of residence.
