Role of Senior Legal Counsel (North & HQ)
The Senior Legal Counsel (North & HQ) at JazzWorld (“company”) will lead and manage all litigation matters for the company and its subsidiaries/associated companies. This includes civil, criminal (FIRs), tax, customs, HR, commercial, and regulatory cases.
The role involves advising senior management on legal risks, developing strategies for dispute resolution, and ensuring strong representation before courts, tribunals, and regulatory bodies. It also includes managing pre-litigation matters, drafting legal documents, and coordinating with internal teams and external counsels.
The role reports directly to the Head of Litigation- Region
What does Senior Legal Counsel (North & HQ) do?
- Manage and oversee litigation, arbitration and other dispute resolution across all areas including civil, criminal, tax, customs, HR, commercial, and regulatory.

- Draft and review pleadings, legal notices, agreements, and court documents.

- Engage and coordinate with external legal counsel and consultants.

- Represent the company before courts, tribunals, and regulatory authorities.

- Giving statement(s) on behalf of the company before courts. Tribunal, Government departments/agencies and other quasi-judicial forums etc.

- Handle pre-litigation matters by assessing risks and advising on resolution strategies.

- Liaise with government bodies, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory institutions.

- Provide legal advice to internal departments on laws, regulations, and contracts.

- Support compliance initiatives and ensure adherence to internal policies.

- Assist in regulatory matters and coordinate with Corporate & Regulatory Affairs team.

- Prepare litigation reports, maintain records, and update litigation portals.

- Conduct legal training sessions and awareness programs on various areas.

- Conduct and prepare Risk assessment report(s) where needed.

- Prepare online training(s) on competition law compliance program and other legal topics.

- Support commercial projects, contracts, and business initiatives.

- Contribute to digital transformation initiatives, including use of AI while ensuring data privacy and confidentiality.

- Supporting other Heads of department(s) of the Legal team in the assigned work.

- Travel within the North/HQ region across different Districts for Court appearances and meetings when required.

- Present legal updates and key issues to management.

What are we looking for and what does it require to be Senior Legal Counsel (North & HQ) do?
· Bar at Law/LLM/LLB Degree with at least 5-7 years working experience in civil, criminal, Regulatory and Corporate Litigation and sound knowledge of the laws of Pakistan in general & telecom, fintech, media, entertainment, insurance laws and anticipated litigation therefrom. Corporate experience will be a plus.
- Strong experience handling cases independently in courts and legal forums.

- Knowledge of Pakistani laws, especially telecom, fintech, media, insurance, and corporate law.

- Experience drafting legal documents, agreements, and other legal instruments/documents.

- Ability to engage with regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies.

- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

- Someone extensively using Artificial Intelligence.

- Experience in litigation management.

- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional projects and a good team player.
