Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Relationship Manager, Fintech will be responsible for originating, developing, and managing strategic relationships with fintech companies and digital financial service providers under the Financial Institutions Unit. The role focuses on driving revenue through investment banking products, balance sheet solutions, advisory mandates, and strategic partnerships while serving as the primary contact for assigned fintech clients.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
Regular/Routine
Client Relationship Management
· Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with fintech companies, including payment service providers, digital lenders, insurtechs, neobanks, and financial technology enablers.
· Act as the primary relationship owner, ensuring high-quality client coverage and responsiveness.
· Understand clients’ business models, growth strategies, regulatory environment, and funding needs.
Business Development & Origination
· Identify and originate investment banking opportunities including:
· Capital raising (debt and equity)
· Mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships
· Structured finance and balance sheet solutions
· Proactively cross-sell the bank’s products and solutions across investment banking, treasury, and transaction banking.
· Develop relationship plans and pipelines aligned with fintech sector trends.
Deal Execution & Coverage
· Coordinate internal product teams to structure and execute mandates efficiently.
· Support due diligence, financial analysis, and preparation of pitch materials and proposals.
· Participate in negotiations and transaction execution to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
Industry & Market Intelligence
· Track developments in the fintech ecosystem, including regulatory changes, funding trends, and emerging technologies.
· Provide insights and strategic advice to clients based on market intelligence.
· Support internal thought leadership and sector strategy for fintech within the FI unit.
Risk & Compliance Management
· Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, KYC/AML requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
· Work closely with risk, legal, and compliance teams to manage client and transaction risks.
Special and other Duties
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Head, Financial Institutions Unit
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
Professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, ACA, ACCA, MBA) are an advantage
Formal Training: ACI Dealership Certificate
Years of Experience: Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate banking, or financial coverage. Proven experience working with fintechs, financial institutions, or technology-driven financial services is strongly preferred. Demonstrated track record in relationship management and deal origination.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
· Good understanding of fintech business models and digital financial services
· Financial analysis, structuring, and credit evaluation skills
· Commercial acumen with strong negotiation abilities
· Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills
· Ability to work across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
