Principal Engineer

We’re Hiring: Principal Engineer Metatech ID is looking for a Principal Engineer to lead and strengthen our software engineering practices across product and platform development. This role is ideal for a senior engineering professional with deep experience in software development, system design, technical decision-making, and engineering quality assurance. Role Overview As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical direction in building and developing software products based on strong design principles and software engineering practices. You will work closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams to ensure that software systems are designed, implemented, tested, validated, and documented according to high-quality engineering standards. This role requires strong technical judgment, the ability to guide engineering teams, and the capability to make key technical decisions that impact product scalability, maintainability, and long-term platform development. Key Responsibilities Provide technical direction and engineering guidance for software product development Lead the design and implementation of software systems based on software engineering principles Determine technical approaches, architecture considerations, and implementation standards for product development Review software design, code quality, system outputs, testing results, validation processes, and technical documentation Guide engineering teams in programming practices, system implementation, and software development standards Identify technical risks, system gaps, scalability concerns, and improvement opportunities Support decision-making related to platform development, technical trade-offs, and engineering priorities Coordinate with product, engineering, QA, DevOps, and other relevant teams to ensure delivery alignment Develop or refine engineering practices, coding standards, documentation standards, and validation processes Supervise technical quality across development activities to ensure outputs meet expected standards Provide technical recommendations to leadership, product teams, and project stakeholders Requirements — Senior Level Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1/D4) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or other relevant fields Minimum 10 years of experience in software development or software engineering Strong experience in developing software applications and leading technical implementation Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, architecture, and development lifecycle Experienced in programming, system validation, software testing, and technical documentation Able to review and improve software design, code quality, development standards, and implementation outputs Able to provide technical direction, mentor engineers, and guide complex engineering decisions Strong analytical thinking to identify technical problems, system risks, and improvement opportunities Experienced in working with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders Strong communication skills to explain technical considerations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Salary Range : 16,240,000 - 20,880,000 (depending on experience)
