Job Description

The Company Halo Industries, Inc., a pioneer in manufacturing innovation with light-based technologies, seeks a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. Halo was founded in 2014 at Stanford University and is now moving into a production phase with significant funding secured in 2024. Our proprietary advancements replace traditional processes with novel laser-based equivalents offering higher quality, lower cost, and enhanced functionality. As we rapidly expand our operations, we're growing the team to oversee our transition from prototype to production.   The Opportunity The Sr. R&D Electrical Engineer will operate in a dynamic, R&D environment developing semiconductor capital equipment in close collaboration with software, mechanical and process engineers. This role will lead the specification, design, build and validation of electrical systems for wafer processing equipment. The ideal candidate will have broad experience applying solid electrical engineering principles to equipment design and enjoy the opportunity to participate in the engineering process from definition through production.   Role and Responsibilities: - Partner closely with Software, Mechanical, and Process Engineers to define system requirements and ensure cross-functional integration of semiconductor capital equipment - - Design electrical power distribution, device I/O control, interlock schemes and interface circuitry - - Lead design reviews, risk assessments and DFMEA processes within a stage-gate process - - Create and manage project schedules with strong ownership of deliverables - - Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing partners to build, refine and release designs - - Build, test, debug prototype machines and subsystems - - Drive methodical multi-disciplinary root cause analysis when necessary - - Elevate the team by sharing your expertise and guiding other team members - Basic Qualifications - BSEE with 7+ years or MSEE with 5+ years experience in equipment design - - Experience with electrical engineering fundamentals with demonstrated expertise in machine design - - Experience with design of electrical power distribution, I/O control systems, interlock design, motion control subsystems for capital equipment - - Experience with electrical system and PCBA design tools (Autocad Electrical, Altium, SPICE) - - Strong working knowledge and proficiency to apply industry standards such as NFPA79 and UL 508A - - Experience with lab tools (oscilloscope, DVM, logic analyzers, hand tools) - - Experience with build, test, debug of prototype power panels, PCBAs, cables, I/O systems, computers - - Experience working effectively with PLM and ERP systems to manage BOMs, ECOs -   Preferred Qualifications - Proficiency to diagnose and resolve complex, cross-functional hardware and embedded system issues - - Experience developing semiconductor capital equipment to SEMI S2, S22 standards - - Analog circuit and FPGA design and modeling experience - - Experience integrating EtherCAT and safety PLC systems - - Experience with industrial computer, OS integration and configuration - - Experience integrating motion control or high power laser systems - - Proficient with mechanical CAD (SolidWorks or similar) - - Experience with test automation and data analysis techniques - - Experience with structured methods for root cause analysis and problem-solving - - Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills - - Strong technical acumen, communication and presentation skills: capable of engaging in detailed technical discussions while simplifying complex topics for broader audiences - - Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) - - Retirement Plan (401k, IRA) - - Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays) - - Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity) - - Stock Option Plan - - Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) - - Retirement Plan (401k, IRA) - - Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays) - - Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D) - - Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity) - - Free Food & Snacks - - Stock Option Plan - - Short Term & Long Term Disability - - Base salary $115,000 - $140,000 - Additional Information We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all team members feel valued and supported.
