Job Description
Alternate titles:
Senior Financial Advisor New Mexico · Wealth Advisor Albuquerque Santa Fe · Financial Planner NM
Location:
Albuquerque, NM · Santa Fe, NM · Las Cruces, NM · Los Alamos, NM · Rio Rancho, NM
Employment Type:
W-2 Statutory Employee of National Life Group (Internal Revenue Code §3121(d)(3)(B) — full-time life insurance salesperson classification per 26 CFR 31.3121(d)-1, Form W-2 Box 13 "Statutory employee" checked) — Commission-Based Compensation (The statutory-employee designation attaches to the life insurance company for which the agent's principal business activity is solicitation of life insurance or annuity contracts — here, National Life Group (A+ AM Best). NLG issues the Form W-2 and checks Box 13. Social Security and Medicare (FICA) taxes are withheld from commission payments, with the employer matching share paid by NLG. Federal income tax is typically not withheld (paid via quarterly estimated tax). Income and business expenses are reported on IRS Schedule C — advisors retain the ability to deduct ordinary and necessary business expenses directly against commission income. WealthBridge Financial Group is the General Agency under which advisors are affiliated, providing infrastructure, training, override compensation, and access to the agency-provided benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401(k), pension contributions, life insurance, continuing-license sponsorship). Compensation is entirely commission-based with no guaranteed base salary; advisors retain 100% ownership of their book of business.)
About WealthBridge Financial Group:
WealthBridge Financial Group is a wealth management firm with over 175 years of history helping clients navigate life's financial complexities with confidence and clarity. Our mission: To Do Good — in our communities and for the families we serve. We Are Change Navigators. Specialties: Premium Financing, Digital Marketing, CPA Alliances, Advanced Planning. We are expanding across Arizona. Backed by National Life Group (A+ AM Best); securities and investment advisory services through Equity Services, Inc. (FINRA/SIPC). People. Impact. Outcome.
The Opportunity:
Washington's independent financial-services channel is dominated by RIAs and a handful of large captive broker-dealers. There's a material gap for independent producers who want NLG (A+) product access combined with industry-leading compensation and a team override on First-Year Commissions. If you're producing in the Seattle metro, Bellevue's tech corridor, Tacoma, or Spokane and ready for a confidential conversation, we want to talk.
We respect any contractual obligations you have to your current firm. We are selective. Decisions within 14 21 days after legal review. End-to-end contract-to-first-production timeline typically 30–45 days, reflecting FINRA Form U5 release, WA State Patrol fingerprinting, and background-check processing.
Preferred market presence:
Established relationships in the Catalina Foothills, Oro Valley, and Marana corridor; the Green Valley/ Sahuarita retiree market; the Lake Havasu/Kingman seasonal resident and small-business market; or the Santa Cruz County border market. Spanish fluency is a strong advantage for Nogales/Rio Rico.
What you gain:
- Industry-leading, production-tiered compensation.
-
- 100% book portability.
-
- Team override on First-Year Commissions (FYC).
-
- Open product marketplace — NLG (A+) as primary carrier plus multi-carrier shelf for product fit.
-
- Transition bonus negotiated case-by-case.
-
- Advanced Markets and Premium Finance for HNW cases, especially relevant to Eastside tech equity compensation planning and Seattle real-estate legacy planning.
-
- Early-cohort positioning in WealthBridge's Washington region.
-
- Multi-state reciprocity — your WA Life & Disability license extends by non-resident reciprocity to OR, ID, and other states.
-
Washington non-compete enforceability advantage (for your consideration):
Washington's Non-Compete Act (RCW 49.62, significantly amended in 2020 and 2023) places the strictest limits in the nation on employer enforcement of non-compete agreements. Non-competes are unenforceable against employees or independent contractors earning below statutory income thresholds (indexed annually); and for 1099 independent contractors, additional notice and reasonableness requirements apply. If you are currently under a non-compete in WA, it may be less enforceable than you assume. We encourage you to review any restrictions with WA-licensed counsel before concluding you cannot make a move. Non solicitation clauses have separate, typically more limited scope.
Representative scenarios for discussion during Discovery:
- Solo producer: compensation positioned at the industry-leading payout tier based on your annual production.
-
- Producer with a developed team: personal compensation layered with FYC-based override income on team production.
-
- Producer building toward Managing Director: personal compensation, FYC-based team override, and the additional MD compensation layer.
-
Specific figures are reviewed with candidates based on individual book size, product mix, persistency, and contract terms.
Compensation (per RCW 49.58.110 pay transparency):
Commission-based, uncapped. Independent contractor (1099). Earnings depend on book size, product mix, persistency, market conditions, and contract terms.
Good-faith earnings estimate per RCW 49.58.110:
Per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS), May 2024, for SOC 13-2052 (Personal Financial Advisors, national, including commissions and production bonuses): median $102,140; 75th percentile $172,540; 90th percentile top-coded at $239,200 or higher; mean annual wage $160,210. Washington state-level estimates are available from the Washington Employment Security Department OEWS report at esd.wa.gov; Washington tends to rank above the national median for this occupation. Established producers transferring from a captive or independent firm typically earn at or above the median, with year-one earnings depending on book size, product mix, persistency, and the speed of book transition. Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2024.
WealthBridge firm-wide good-faith earnings estimate (commission-based, 1099):
WealthBridge Financial Group's currently-live New York entry-level Workable posting discloses a good-faith range of $80,000 to $115,000 yearly for first-year new associates. This is the firm's pay-transparency disclosure for new associates; it represents an earnings estimate (not a salary) for commission-based 1099 broker affiliated production. New advisors typically begin in the lower portion of the range during the licensing and ramp period (commonly months 1–12) and scale up as activity, persistency, and book development compound. As 1099 independent contractors, new associates are responsible for their own health insurance, retirement savings, and self-employment taxes; WealthBridge provides the carrier platform, training, mentorship, and required-license sponsorship.
