Job Summary:
The Test Engineer role is a key position with responsibility for defining and executing test procedures for the purpose of validating and improving product behavior and reliability. This role encompasses feature validation, bug fix verification, identifying, reporting, and potentially triaging problems, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases and procedures to validate complex product features and functionality

- Independently document and report bugs or defects with attention to detail and reproducibility

- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive comprehensive test coverage aligned with product requirements

- Take ownership of validating new product features to ensure alignment with design specifications and user needs

- Conduct thorough functional, regression, and exploratory testing

- Lead efforts in triaging and performing root cause analysis of reported issues, prioritizing resolutions

- Propose and implement improvements to testing methodologies, tools, and workflows

- Manage detailed documentation of test plans, results, and known issues

- Demonstrate proficiency in using testing tools and software to optimize efficiency within team frameworks

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

- Basic understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and processes

- Familiarity with defect tracking tools and test management software

- Ability to write clear and concise test cases and documentation

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Effective communication and collaboration skills within a cross-functional team environment

- Eagerness to learn new technologies, tools, and processes related to software testing

- Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages is a plus

- Familiarity with automation tools or willingness to learn is a bonus

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to ensuring product quality

- 3–6 years of experience in software testing or a related role, demonstrating increased responsibility and impact over time

- Proven ability to assist in developing automated test frameworks under supervision

- Proficiency in designing and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases, including edge case scenarios

- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, TestNG) and the ability to create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts

- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills to identify root causes of defects and provide actionable feedback

- Experience working in agile development environments and familiarity with agile testing methodologies

- Exposure to performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus

- Ability to lead small testing initiatives or projects, including planning, execution, and reporting

Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) and integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines

- Proficiency in a programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java) for creating and maintaining automated test scripts

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple testing efforts and deliverables simultaneously
